Meppen. As of Saturday, November 1, the opening hours of the recycling centers in the district of Emsland will change again. Recyclable materials such as scrap metal, building rubble, small electrical appliances, green waste, recyclable materials, paper, used cooking oil and vegetable oil can be handed in at all collection points in the district on Fridays from 2 to 4 pm and Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm.
The recycling centers at the central landfill sites in Dörpen, Flechum, Venneberg and Wesuwe as well as in Lingen (Greiwehof) and Papenburg (Flachsmeerstraße) offer extended opening hours. The respective times can be found on the website of the waste management company (AWB) for the Emsland district at www.awb-emsland.de, in the collection calendar and in the AWB Emsland app.
To ensure smooth recycling, the AWB asks that all materials be delivered pre-sorted. Items can only be handed in during the above-mentioned opening hours. The dumping of recyclable materials or waste is considered an administrative offense and will be punished accordingly.
