From 2026, Abfallwirtschaftsbetrieb Landkreis Emsland will be offering a new
biofilter lid for organic waste garbage cans. The specially developed lid has an
integrated filter that reliably reduces unpleasant odors and effectively prevents
maggot infestation. Particularly in the summer months, when organic
waste decomposes more quickly and moisture builds up in the garbage can, this can lead to strong
odors and increased egg-laying by flies.
The new biofilter system keeps the organic waste garbage can significantly cleaner, more hygienic
and more convenient to use.
Please note that organic waste garbage cans with biofilter lids will only be available from the beginning of 2026!
